Core Web Vitals are three measurements Google uses to judge how a page feels to a real visitor. They influence rankings and, more importantly, whether people stay on the page.
Largest Contentful Paint
How long until the main content is visible. Aim for under 2.5 seconds.
Interaction to Next Paint
How quickly the page responds when someone taps or clicks. Aim for under 200 milliseconds.
Cumulative Layout Shift
How much the page jumps around while loading. Aim for a score under 0.1.
What to ask your developer
- Are we measuring with real user data or only lab tests?
- Which pages are failing, and why?
- What would fixing them cost compared with the traffic they get?
