Rental counters in Qatar serve a wide mix of customers: residents with a Qatari licence, visitors from other GCC countries, and travellers arriving at Hamad International Airport with an international permit. The system stores the documents each customer type needs, checks expiry dates before the contract is printed, and lets airport desk staff see which cars are ready on site and which must come from a Doha branch.
Bookings from your website, app, phone and counter draw on one availability calendar, so a car reserved online cannot be handed out at a branch. Rate plans can differ for weekends, holiday periods and major events, and add-ons such as child seats, extra drivers or delivery to a hotel in West Bay or Lusail are priced automatically.
Corporate leasing and chauffeur-driven contracts
Corporate leasing is core business for many rental firms in Qatar, with companies taking cars, pickups and vans for staff on monthly or yearly terms. The system handles long-term contracts with recurring invoices, replacement cars during servicing and one statement per corporate account, so a contractor leasing forty pickups receives one clear monthly bill instead of forty separate ones.
For limousine and chauffeur-drive operators, each booking carries the assigned driver, pickup time and location, and GPS integration shows where the car is. Extra hours, distance and add-ons are charged against the booking, so the invoice reflects the trip that actually took place rather than the one first quoted on the phone.
Deposits, fines and invoices before VAT
Deposits are taken by QPay, card, payment link or cash, and each deduction for fuel, extra kilometres, damage or fines is recorded against the contract. Traffic violations, which are registered to the plate and often appear after the car is back, are matched to the contract that was open at that date and time and billed with your admin fee.
Qatar charges no VAT at present, so invoices go out without tax, but every invoice and credit note has a tax field ready to switch on. Accounting exports, customer ageing and profit per vehicle come from the same contracts. Scanned licences, passports and IDs are stored with access controls designed around Law No. 13 of 2016.
